Further Afield
There are a great number and variety of places of interest to visit and things to do, especially during the summer in the region. Dartmoor National Park is about half an hour inland, and there are also a number of National Trust properties in Devon.
Other local towns worth visiting for shopping, eating and a wander round are: Modbury, Totnes which has a lively Saturday market, Ashburton and the estuary towns of Salcombe (very busy in summer) and Dartmouth. The city of Plymouth is about 40 minutes drive away and Exeter about an hour.
